Gracie's Cool Cousins

Gracie LOVES her cousins Kimball, Jaxon and Landon. They are truly the coolest kids ever. They are kind, funny and always helpful and patient with Gracie and Will. We were really glad Aunt Jenny and the boys could come to the zoo for Gracie's birthday. Thanks for coming Jen and cool dudes! We love you!

Happy Birthday Gracie!

Here are Gracie with Acacia and Pyper-her dearest friends that we live with right now.

Birthday Girl Cake and Zoo

Gracie turned 5! We went to the zoo with Aunt Jenny and our cools cousins, Amma and Aunt Molly and new baby, and friends Pyper and Acacia. Gracie had a great time Saturday and Sunday. It was nice to share a birthday with the elephant, Dari. We saw the bird show, which was quite entertaining. It was a hot day. We got to ride the carousel, but skipped the train this time because the line was super long.

Myrtle Spurge

Jett is the 3rd child of Angie's who has chosen to get into the neighbors Myrtle Spurge to catch snails. All is fine and well, until the next day someone ends up with a rash on their face. Or in Jett's case some humongo blisters. Thank goodness we new about Myrtle and her Spurge or this could have been quite perplexing.

Stake Center Locator

Driving around town over the past bit, I've seen these trucks driving around with the business name "Stake Center Locator" on the side. What do these folks do, exactly? I myself have thought of hiring them because our Stake Conference is on Sunday and I have no idea where my Stake Center is.

Pyper & Grace

Graduation caps and all. Pyper and Grace graduate and onto Kindergarten they go. They are night and day, but have a great love for one another. Pyper is miss independent, coordination extraordinaire, quick thinker, no holds barred. Gracie, on the other hand, is not so coordinated sometimes, she's been know to just fall over in a chair for really no reason, or trip and lay out flat on the ground. She's come a long way though. She has "kitties in her heart" and Acacia tells her that someday she'll marry a cat. Grace is sweet and sensitive and takes her time about most things. Especially eating.

Groovy? Her name is Groovy?

Gracie and Pyper met a new friend at preschool. They were both so excited about becoming friends with her. When I asked them her name, they said her name is Groovy. I said, "Are you sure? I've never heard Groovy as a name before." They replied, "Yes, her name is Groovy."
One day, as I was dropping the kids off at preschool in the morning, they got all excited and said, "There's Groovy!" I just had to go check this mom out. What type of parents name their child Groovy? So I said hello and as the kids were talking, I asked the mom what her daughters name was. I wanted it first hand. She said, "Oh, that is Ruby."

The Recorder Sessions

The recorder sessions. Not quite like Bruce Springsteen's "Seeger Sessions" but it was sweet. Sweet how they just blow the same note over and over to a rhythm. After 3 or 4 songs, I had heard enough of the recorder sessions for a while. Fortunately, Gracie and Pyper lost their recorders soon after bringing them home. Oh shoot!

Gracie's Preschool Graduation

Gracie graduated from Rising Star Preschool May 2008. On our way to the Graduation we stopped for lunch, flowers for Teacher Heather & Teacher Grandma, and balloons from the dollar store. As we were pulling up to the city building Gracie said she needed to pee, I told her we just needed to park and she could go inside and pee. My hands were full of food and drink, purse, camera, video camera, diaper bag and two plants for Teachers. Oh, and I was trying to hold 2 year old Will's hand and get him inside and up the stairs. We ran in, Gracie got her recorder and graduation cap on and sat backstage with the classes and teachers. We went and found our seats in the audience, ate some lunch, visited with Todd and Angie. I forgot all about Gracie having to pee. About 45 minutes later the graduation got underway. As the preschool classes were preparing to play their recorders, Angie, my friend and Pyper's mom, says to me-"I think Gracie needs to pee". As I look up, Gracie is on the front row, holding herself and starting to cry (this photo is right before the tears). I ran up to the stage, helped her down and ran to the bathroom. Whew! Close call. Thanks Ang, what would we do without you?
